From Where I Stand

  • Project From Where I Stand / Date 7 September 2014 / Category Documentary / Status Completed

Brazil is in turmoil. Deep-seated in economic upheaval, torn by corruption and lacking perspective in its political leadership, a divided society is questioning its future. Where are we going? Where do we want to go? How to develop leaderships? How to restore the democratic representative system’s credibility? Before the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff in 2016, we travelled the country from north to south asking Brazilians of all ages what they expect for the future, and the conversation soon developed from their personal wishes into a frail sociopolitical debate, exposing the core of Brazilian society.

From Where I Stand was produced as part of the exhibition Brazil, Past and Future that travelled four capital cities in Brazil in 2014 and 2015, with overall attendance of more than 20,000 people.
